Yates-Laberge Family Site

Andrew has been BEGGING to ride his bike to school. Yesterday’s weather was simply beautiful and I saw over 40 children’s bikes outside the school. Last night I let Andrew know that I would let him ride his bike to school if he was 100% ready for school at 8:15(he has to be in class at 8:45). He promptly went to his room and chose his clothes for school and went RIGHT to bed. This morning Adam was up first and Andrew slept in a bit. I heard some  stirring in Andrew’s room…I go in and he HALF DRESSED!!! Honestly, I just was STUNNED! He was so excited, he was about to BURST!! He ate, FIXED HIS HAIR(that is a blog of it’s OWN!!) and went out to get his bike ready! It was the sweetest thing ever!

I put on my “walking” shoes and we headed off. We got to the end of the road and met up with Karen, Griffin, and Graham….our friends down the street. Andrew QUICKLY let me know that he would like to ride with them and that “he would be fine”. I worked it all out and they were off….on his bike…a smile that could light the world….riding his bike to school!

Sometimes a tiny thing…a small amount of freedom and confidence…..can make such an amazing change in a young boy’s life. 

WE are BEYOND ExCITED!!!!!!

OUR HOUSEHOLD GOODS HAVE ARRIVED AND WE HAVE CLEARED CUSTOMS !!!

WE OFFICIALLY MOVE INTO OUR HOUSE TOMORROW AT 9am!!!

The boys are ELATED!! The guy opened up the back of the truck after clearance and showed them their bikes! Andrew has not stopped smiling! Adam just wants his “guys” (action figures).  I am gitty and excited…and just can NOT wait!!! We are packing up here today and getting some things done. Claire took the day off so she could help me with the kids while I did my “thing”.
