KIDS RELO SURVIVAL GUIDE

Things to pack

 

  1. crayons/markers

  2. stencils/stickers

  3. small ball that can be played with indoors

  4. glove and ball (if over 5) - there are TONS of parks

  5. favorite stuffed animal/blanket

  6. night light x2

  7. clothes that are off season (weather varies greatly)

  8. light jacket and heavy jacket

  9. small water bottle for child sized hands (difficult to puchase downtown).

Downtown Calgary for Kids

if you are relocated and staying in executive suites downtown with children,knowing what to do and where to go is ESSENTIAL during your first week for the sake of sanity.

  1. Bow River Bike/Walking Trails

  2. Telus Science Museum- buy a plus membership for your family, you can view movies for free

  3. Eau Claire Marketplace Indoor Playground

  4. Eau Claire/Bow River Outdoor Playground (entrance next to Sheraton Suites, near YMCA)

  5. Calgary Main Library (2nd floor Children’s area) - books and DVDs (bring a copy of your lease or utility bill to prove residency. Children’s memberships are free, adults $12.00.
