Our Journey IS Our Destination
I have been viewing the blog………yes finally I am viewing it…………..and I have added comment to some postings (pages 1 to 3).
Anne wanted me to tell you, since notifications are not sent when new comments are posted.
Picture this………we come to Calgary expecting very cold weather, because everyone is saying how cold it is here. So we pack winter coats, boots, etc. Well we head off to the zoo yesterday in our winter gear. All we have are our winter jackets, we left our hats and boots in the apartment for this outing.
So we are wearing winter coats, all we really need are spring jackets at the most.
If you do not know this about me already, you need to know something for this story - - I derive no enjoyment from strolling through gardens looking at plants. I enjoy seeing nicely landscaped yards, and nice flower beds, but I have no desire to know the latin names of plants, or their origins - all I care about is that they are colorful.
So at the zoo, there is a garden. All day long I skirt around the garden. There is always something to draw everyone’s attention to other than the garden - elephants, giraffes, night creatures, the day is going well. Then it happens ……..we go by the garden sign again and Anne says, ‘hey boys do you want to see some pretty plants?” My day is going straight to hell.
Did I mention that I was hot already? Well here we are walking through the desert plants display …..do I have to tell you that it is hot in the desert? I am in hell!
Next we see the plants of the Tropics - getting hotter!! Anne loves to take pictures of flowers, so I am trying to be patient, getting hotter, patient, but very hot. Finally, ready to pass out from the heat, I head for the exit doors and tell the boys to tell Mama, that I will be waiting for her outside. The air is wonderful.
When you visit, I will be more than happy to take you to all of the attractions in Calgary, but I will not take you to see any gardens. You can beg and plead, but it is never going to happen.
Oh………..speaking of hot, this is also the day that I dropped the pizza in the oven and started a fire. Hell I tell you - Hell.
Claire.
This is for anyone thinking of furnishing the ENTIRE house with Ikea - DON’T!!
Everything in this apartment comes from Ikea. There is this smell that I have been trying to figure out where it is coming from. It is from the dressers. Whenever I open the drawers I smell it. It is not a bad smell, just annoying and it gives me a headache.
Then there are the two love seats. There is no loving happening on these seats any time soon. They are extremely uncomfortable. I am not a furniture snob, but this stuff is lousy. My back hurts every time I sit on them. Of course the only alternative are the dining table chairs. Ohhhhhhhh the joy.
Will the moving gods, please, please get our furniture on the road from Toronto?!!
